Love N Kindness CDC is the outreach arms of the Faith Clinic Church of God in Christ, a non-profit charitable organization. We were first established in June, 2009, under the name The Ravendale Community Service Center. In September, 2009, the name was changed to Love N Kindness Community Corporation to reflect our re-dedication to the revitalization of the community.

At Love N Kindness Community Development Corporation , we are deeply committed to serving those who have served us. Our mission is to provide homeless veterans and families with safe housing, essential resources, and the supportive services they need to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. Through collaborative community efforts, we work not only to end the cycle of homelessness but also to revitalize neighborhoods—creating stronger, more inclusive communities where every individual has the opportunity to thrive. Together, we believe in healing, restoring, and building a better future for all. We follow the mandate of Jesus Christ in Jeremiah 1:3. “With Love and Kindness have I drawn thee.”

How Homeless Diversion Training Helps End Veteran Homelessness in Detroit

Detroit is working hard to reach Functional Zero for Veteran homelessness—where homelessness is rare, brief, and quickly resolved. One powerful tool to help us get there is Homeless Diversion Training.

Why This Matters

Veterans in Detroit face unique challenges like mental and physical health issues, lack of housing access, and limited support networks. Without the right intervention, many end up in shelters—or worse, on the streets.

What Is Homeless Diversion Training?

Homeless diversion is a prevention-first approach. It teaches staff across community organizations and government agencies how to:

The Impact

By training frontline staff in these skills, we can stop homelessness before it starts—reducing the number of Veterans entering the system and keeping them housed for good.

Funding Support

LNK is proud to serve as the fiduciary for a grant awarded by The Rocket Community Fund to support this vital Homeless Diversion Training initiative. The grant will run through December 2026.

Together, we’re building a stronger, more responsive community—one where no Veteran is left without a place to call home.

Supporting Veteran Housing Stability: New Flex Funds Coming January 2026 sponsored by The Rocket Community Fund.

Starting January 2026, expanded funding from this grant will include flexible dollars designed to help Veterans on Detroit’s By-Name List (BNL) and those at risk of homelessness overcome key barriers to stable housing. These prevention funds will be available to assist with:

Additionally, the funds will provide landlord incentive and risk mitigation support—encouraging more property owners to rent to Veterans by reducing perceived risks.

By removing these financial obstacles, this initiative gives Veterans a stronger path toward securing and maintaining safe, affordable, and permanent housing—while also promoting housing stability and financial resilience over time.
